FestivalReplay (1): “30 jaar Pac-man!” door Toru Iwatani

Toru Iwatani is de bedenker van de beroemde game Pac-Man. Dertig jaar oud is de gele happelaar inmiddels, maar de impact van zijn succes is nog steeds voelbaar. Iwatani opende met zijn toespraak het Festival of Games en deed dat voor een volle zaal en veel pers. “Ik heb nog altijd ideeën voor Pac-Man. Zo wil ik hem graag laten zingen.”

Grote waardering voor sprekers tijdens Festival of Games

Afgelopen donderdag en vrijdag traden zo’n 40 internationale en lokale grootheden voor het voetlicht tijdens de Game Conference, onderdeel van het Festival of Games. Het sprekersprogramma was grotendeels samengesteld door Control en we zijn dan ook zeer vereerd met de vele positieve reacties. De komende tijd publiceren wij diverse verslagen van de sessies en de video’s van de Fast Tracks. Er zijn ook opnamen gemaakt in de Main Track en zodra we weten wanneer de NLGD (de stichting achter het festival) die publiceert, laten we het weten.

Just when user testing games was as close to perfection as humanly possible, the game changed.
